Yay!
I've got an appointment on Nov. 9th to get *real* Auditory Processing testing done by a specialist.
People who say "oh, yes I can do that" when they really can't (or can only do so in the most simple of cases) really irritate me!
Happily though my insurance will pay for everything, even the second round of more comprehensive testing I'm going to have done next month.
And now I check to see if this will automatically cross-post correctly!

(And yes, I hate it when they tell me they can, and then fail. I realize they - and medical science in general - have limits, but don't make me promises you can't keep. Especially not when it relates to my life and health.)
But insurance is picking up the tab? 100%? Now that is amazing. Congratulations.

In a 12 month period they've paid 100% for: at least 4 pairs of orthotics, 2 regular hearing tests & one Auditory Processing screening test (that purported to be an actual diagnostic test & wasn't).
And they're going to pay for this $1,000-$1,500 Auditory Processing diagnositic test as well - because the specialist audiologist I'm going to see next month is a listed Preferred Provider in my insurance company directory!! :D
I love my insurance and will do almost anything to keep it (I work for a governmental organization/unit & I'm part of a union). :) The insurance (& retirement) benefits alone will keep me in this job for a VERY VERY VERY long time.
