My big goal for the weekend...
Is to not leave the house!
HTB & I have had just too many weekends full of going places and doing things, and we're both really needing a quiet weekend at home where we don't have to do anything.
I'm REALLY looking forward to it.
In fact at work yesterday when people were asking what my weekend plans were (as happens every Friday afternoon) I told them all with a bigass grin on my face "To not leave the house". They all looked at me like I'd lost my mind, but told me they hoped I enjoyed myself. I reassurred them I would and explained a bit about how I've really been needing a quiet & relaxing weekend at home.
In other news, it's been made official that my boss D (whom I loved completely & utterly and was the absolute bestest boss I've *ever* had!!!) is retiring from her position (on the advice of her Dr & family) and I will be forever losing the bestest boss ever.
::sobs::
The temp person (let's call him/her P) that's been filling in/helping out has been a help, but I'm getting bad vibes. As in vibes that are the opposite of helpful/friendly/cheerful/willing to do whatever to help out however. :( I'm getting vibes that are either boredom or amusement at having to be here & do this (as in it's beneath P or something). I expressed some of these concerns to C who's been helping me to fill in for D, and C told me to write my concerns down (which I did). I later asked C who would be my official supervisor (not that it's a real big deal because they just let me go do what I need to do and have told me that I work so damn hard that I really don't even need to bother asking them for permission if I want to take time off, just to let them know when I need to be gone). And the short story is that A (a really nice guy who I like/respect a lot - and vice versa) will be my supervisor. And D's old position will not be posted/refilled at the same position, it'll be at something else (something else that doesn't require the person to supervise people, since the only people D supervised were me & 2 other office assistants). New-supervisor-A is the one who advised me "against being too young & too smart". :D A told me that little gem when he pulled me in to chat about my workload, as A is quite concerned that I'm overstressed/overworked. :D It's SOOO nice when your bosses know you're smart and realize that some of your frustrations come from being smart and having to tell/advise/ask those who are much older than you to do things.
But most of all I'm insanely relieved that A will be my supervisor (because we get along really well, and he's a really nice guy). He's one of those very nice workaholic types who puts in a LOT of hours, but doesn't expect others to do so, and doesn't take his stress out on others. HappyHappyHappyHappy!!!
I'm also very relived that P will NOT be my supervisor. P hasn't gotten the permanent position yet (as it hasn't been posted yet), but assuming P actually wants the job P will get it as P has a LOT of experience & qualifications.
