Yikes! Time certainly does fly!

I was *sure* I'd updated recently, but I guess not.

Anyway, since we last saw each other...
-On Saturday I had a serious 6-hour power shopping trip with good friend E. She's VERY pregnant (due May 5th), and we went shopping for all the rest of the stuff she needed for her baby girl & for her hospital bag. I had a TON of fun. HTB & I will likely never bother having kids of our own, so it was an honor & a joy to be able to help E get ready for her baby. I'm also officially going to be Aunt [livejournal.com profile] rosebee!!! :D

-On Sunday HTB & I went to go talk to the photographer we want to hire for our wedding. There was some interesting miscommunication about expections, but it all worked out (I was going in thinking we'd get some details and if we liked what we heard we'd hire him then & there - as we had a guaranteed price sheet & there was nothing to be negotiated). HTB was kind of irritated because he wanted to not let the photographer know that he was the one we wanted to hire, so we could negotiate, and HTB was irritated because he thought we should've done better interviewing him. We talked & I explained how there was nothing to negotiate, and we interviewed him by thoroughly examining his work when we talked to him at the Bridal Show. So now after work today we're going BACK to the photographer's place to give him the $200 deposit and sign paperwork.

-I *really* miss the uninterrupted/contingous sleep I got as a single person. If my breathing patterns change in the middle of the night it wakes HTB up and then he wakes me up because he's concerned I'll forget to start breathing again. This isn't sleep apnea, I'm not severly snoring like that, just taking slower breaths. Normally I'm the one that steals the covers but last night he was the culprit. I woke up twice last night because I was cold & only had half of me covered. And I wake up if HTB's snoring.
I still fall asleep quickly and easily, but I used to say a bad night's sleep was when I stirred & slightly woke up once or twice. I've changed that definition slightly. Now just stirring and not really waking up all the way doesn't even count. Waking up only once does not constitute a bad night's sleep. Waking up twice is unpleasant but not really bad. Three times is bad.
Of course a solid week of waking up twice during the night is bad.
I swear I'm going to crash early tonight, steal all the covers for myself, and maybe even wear earplugs (I'm bound & determined to sleep all night long without interruptions)!

re the covers — my husband and I used to have our own separate covers; we'd over lap them in the middle as we cuddled and whatnot before sleep, but for sleeping, I had my own blankets and he had his. He's so much warmer than I, I was always cold if he was comfortable, and vice versa. it's a nice arrangement; you can still meet in the middle, but no one freezes or burns.

That's a good idea!!

We'll have to try something like that. Right now we have an electric blanket and during the winter time I like to have my side on & he doesn't.
Since he just moved in 4 months ago we don't have much experience with summer time sleeping, but I can easily imagine him being much warmer than me and always wanting to push away the blankets I'll need to keep from shivering!

oh, we have an electric mattress pad, and i tell you, that thing is worth its weight in gold. and the dual controls, for the same reason -- he'll leave his off and I'll have mine halfway up ;)

separate top covers are a good thing! you can snuggle all together under them or have your own ones to keep warm. ear plugs are good to! this body does not sleep well without help! xoxoxo from boo

Mostly I sleep quite good but this whole sleeping with another person concept is taking me a lot of getting used to!

I even got some custom earplugs made. Because whenever I travel the strange noises & strange environment kept me from getting much sleep, and the over-the-counter ear plugs were always uncomfortable. So I went to the place where you get hearing aids, and they made a mold of the inside of my ear and made me earplugs that are shaped PERFECTLY for me! :)
