This is where I cross my fingers

I go back to my podiatrist today to pick up my new orthotics. Evidently what he had me try out before was just the shell, and wasn't the final product. Of course, like all Drs with such *excellent* bedside manners as he has, he neglected to tell me this at first. I like this Dr, I have confidence in his skills & abilities. I'll take that over a picture-perfect bedside manner ANY day. :)

Once I'm sure these new orthotics are perfect in every way and make my toes totally and happily pain-free, I get to go back and have him make orthotics for my dress shoes. I figure I'll need a pair for my flats and a pair for my 1.5" heels. I don't know if I'll also need a separate pair for a pair of 1" heels. I haven't bought them yet, but I'm going to soon. Probably this weekend. :D

MrB is back in school, classes started back up again this week. He's taking a heavy load this term! 17 credits: Calculus 1, a computer science/JAVA programming class, Intro to Mythology & Folklore, and Cultural Anthropology. He was supposed to take Trig this term, but studied his ass off over the winter break to refresh his old high-school memory of taking Trig, and managed to test out of Trig and go straight into Calc 1!

I feel a bit guilty for wearing nothing but tennis shoes to work for the last month or so... but I don't really have a whole lot of choice about it just yet. My Birkenstocks make my toes hurt now, and I don't have orthotics for any other shoes yet. Soon though.
