::pats self on back::
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of myself!!
I not only got all the trash in the house taken out, but I managed to move my greatbigheavy computer desk 4 feet over to snuggle up next to my file cabinet in the corner. I used the wiggle method to do it. :) After taking all the heavy objects off I wiggled the desk a foot or so, moved the monitor (which was nicely resting on my wheeled chair), moved the still-all-plugged-in computer tower, the heavyass uninterruptible power supply, cable modem & power strip that live underneath the desk in the footwell a foot or so, then repeated the process until I had the desk all the way over where I wanted it to.
There's just something really gratifying/empowering about managing to find a way to do a heavy task that doesn't involve calling the nearest male over for assistance. :)
HTB's computer desk is scheduled to arrive tomorrow during lunch. When we ordered it on Sunday they said it'd ship today, likely at the end of the day (since it was coming down from Seattle), and that it'd be shipped via UPS. So I made special arrangements to get off work early to meet the UPS truck (because I've seen the UPS truck making deliveries before, and it's always at the end of the day right around/before 5 o'clock). And of course I found a message on my machine from a different freight company saying they tried to deliver it but I wasn't home so please call when I get home to arrange a time for them to come deliver it (or I could go pick it up from them). So my mom's going to hang out at my house from 12 - 1pm tomorrow to let the desk in for me (so I don't have to ask for favors from my boss again).
We will just barely have enough room in here for the desk HTB ordered. If the measurements provided by the manufacturer are accurate we won't even have a 16th of an inch to spare! ::crosses fingers that it'll fit ok::
I'm hoping to try & put the desk together tomorrow evening after work.
Though HTB told me to make sure & wait until he gets home so he can help (& shave off the ends of the desk if needed to fit it into the space we have).
The oven dinged (Pizza!!!) so it's dinner time.
I'm still just so inordinately proud of myself for actually having manged to get my desk moved!!
